When junk starts taking over a garage, basement, rental property, yard or job site, the fastest fix is not always another curbside pile or a dumpster rental. 5 Star Demolition & Junk Removal handles the lifting, loading, hauling and disposal for you, so the property is clear in one visit instead of four weekends.

From a single bulky item to a full residential cleanout or a commercial project, the goal stays the same. Clear the space safely, sort materials responsibly and get the property usable again without repeated trips to a landfill or recycling center.

What we haul out of Brookhaven properties

Household clutter, garbage removal, construction debris, yard waste, furniture, appliances and larger cleanout projects across Brookhaven and the surrounding Suffolk County communities.

Furniture and bedding

  • Couches, chairs and recliners
  • Tables, shelves and dressers
  • Headboards and wood frames
  • Box springs and mattresses

Carpet and construction debris

  • Carpet, rugs and padding
  • Scrap lumber, tile and insulation
  • Pegboard, sheetrock and PVC pipe
  • Pallets, skids and building material

Outdoor junk

  • Stockade fencing
  • PVC and vinyl fencing
  • Wood rail, split rail and picket
  • Yard waste and outdoor clutter

Pools, windows and oversized

  • Molded and soft plastic pools
  • Above ground pools
  • Wood and plastic frame windows
  • Hot tubs

Hot tubs need a little prep

The unit should be drained and safely disconnected before dismantling. Power disconnection may require someone with the right electrical expertise. If you are hauling one yourself, the Town directs residents bringing hot tubs to the facility to cut the unit into quarters first. If that sounds like a bad Saturday, that is exactly the kind of job we take.

How a Brookhaven junk removal job runs

Send photos

Text pictures of the items, the pile and the access points. Volume and access are what drive the price.

Get your number

We review labor, disposal requirements and material volume, then quote the job before we roll.

We load it

The crew handles the stairs, the basement, the attic and the yard. You do not touch a thing.

Space swept clean

Usable items get donated when practical, recyclables get sorted, and the area gets tidied before we leave.

Same day service may be available depending on scheduling and project size. Detailed photos sent up front are the single fastest way to lock in a slot, because the crew already knows the job description before arrival.

Brookhaven bulk pickup versus professional junk removal

The Town already runs a solid residential program. It just was not built for renovations, cleanouts or contractor debris.

Town curbside bulk pickup
  • Maximum of four bulk items per pickup
  • Collected Thursday or Friday depending on your area
  • Residential use materials only
  • Major renovation and contractor generated debris is not accepted
  • You cut, bundle, tie, tape and drag everything to the curb
  • Items over 50 lbs or oversized bundles get left behind
5 Star full service removal
  • No four item cap and no weekly waiting
  • Renovation and contractor debris welcome
  • We do the cutting, dismantling and carrying
  • Basements, attics, garages, yards and job sites
  • One visit instead of four weeks of curb trips
  • Donation and recycling handled on the back end

A house cleanout, estate cleanout, renovation, commercial garbage removal project or a pile of heavy furniture blows past what makes sense for curbside residential trash removal fast. Full service removal also means you never load a roll off dumpster yourself, sit through a rental period or make repeated disposal trips.

Rules and collection days change. Confirm current guidelines on the Town of Brookhaven Bulk and Special Items page before you put anything at the curb.

Recycling, donation and responsible disposal

An eco friendly junk removal service should ask what can be reused or recycled before treating a truckload as landfill waste.

Usable items get donated when practical, and recyclable materials get directed toward appropriate recycling options rather than dumped as mixed waste. That matters more than usual on Long Island, where the Town runs recycling programs, special collection events, waste oil options, battery disposal resources and the annual Great Brookhaven Cleanup.

Some materials simply need different handling than ordinary junk. Used motor oil, oil filters, car batteries, electronics, paint and hazardous household products belong in designated Town programs rather than a garbage can.

Items that need a special path

  • Household hazardous waste goes to the Town STOP facility at Horseblock Road, residential material only
  • Oil based paint is handled through the Town paint recycling program next to the STOP facility
  • Rechargeable batteries can go to the STOP facility, and New York retailers that sell them must take them back
  • Electronics have their own Town recycling path
  • Explosives, ammunition, flares, fireworks, radioactive material, medical waste and asbestos are not accepted at STOP

We do not handle hazardous materials, asbestos or medical waste. If your cleanout turns up something in that category, we will tell you straight and point you to the right Town program instead of quietly putting it on the truck.

Brookhaven junk removal questions

How much does junk removal cost in Brookhaven?

Pricing is driven by volume, labor and disposal requirements. A single item off the driveway is a different job than a full basement carried up a flight of stairs, even if the pile looks similar. Text photos of the items and the access route and you get a firm number before we schedule anything.

Can you come the same day?

Same day service may be available depending on scheduling and project size. Photos sent early in the day give you the best shot at a slot, because we can size the truck and crew without a site visit.

Do I have to move anything to the curb first?

No. That is the entire point of full service removal. Our crew goes into the basement, attic, garage, shed or yard and does the lifting, carrying and loading. You point and we handle the rest.

Will the Town not just take this at the curb?

Sometimes. Brookhaven allows a maximum of four bulk items per pickup, collected Thursday or Friday depending on your area, and only from residential use. Major renovation and contractor generated construction debris is not accepted through standard residential bulk collection. Once a project exceeds that, professional removal is usually faster and cheaper than four weeks of curb trips.

Do you take construction and renovation debris?

Yes. Scrap lumber, tile, insulation, sheetrock, pegboard, PVC pipe, pallets, skids and other approved building materials are routine for us, including contractor generated volume that the Town will not collect curbside.

What happens to the items after pickup?

Usable items may be donated when practical and recyclable material gets directed toward appropriate recycling options. Anything that genuinely belongs in the waste stream goes to a permitted facility.

Is there anything you will not take?

Household hazardous waste, asbestos, medical waste, explosives, ammunition and similar materials need designated Town or State programs. The Brookhaven STOP facility handles residential household hazardous waste, and paint, batteries and waste oil each have their own path. We will tell you which one applies rather than guess.

Do you handle rentals and commercial properties?

Yes. Landlords, property managers, realtors, contractors and local businesses across Brookhaven use us for tenant turnovers, pre listing cleanouts, office clear outs, warehouse cleanups and ongoing job site debris removal.

Do I need a permit for demolition in Brookhaven?

Structural demolition in Brookhaven generally requires a permit from the Town Building Division, and a demolition permit is valid for 90 days from issue. Interior work such as a kitchen or bath tear out may still fall under Town code requirements. Check with the Building Division before work starts, and we can coordinate debris removal around your schedule.
