Over time, many of the summer bungalows were replaced with larger homes, reflecting a shift towards year-round residency.

Today, Island Park is home to approximately 4,800 residents, with a median household income of around $96,875 as of 2022. The community has evolved from its origins as a seasonal retreat to a vibrant residential area that offers various amenities and services. The local government oversees municipal operations through a five-member board, ensuring that residents’ needs are met. Recent improvements in the downtown area have enhanced its appeal, making Island Park not only a desirable place to live but also a community rich in history and culture.
